Spardha'12

Spardha: The Clash of the Titans Who doesn’t remember that game of football in the rains we have all played, ending up with clothes that glistened with muddy brown hues. Amidst submissions, lectures, presentations and what not, sports hit IMI and it hit hard, even the rains couldn’t do much about it, if anything they only added to the fun. Students of IMI, boys and girls alike, after slogging it out in classrooms, had Spardha’12 to look forward to with games ranging from Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Throwball and basketball to Badminton. For those who think that their brains are not picked enough in class we had chess as well. As they say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, well IMI makes sure that Jack ain’t a dull boy. Moreover it was more or less an extension of what we have learnt in class especially for the first years as they actually felt how it is to be in a team and succeed or face failure. Sports committee deserves special praise since weather gods were not on their side and even then they came out flying colors. With fixtures getting cancelled or postponed they kept their cool and Spardha’12 continued the legacy that has been bestowed on it. With so many activities going around in IMI apart from classes, Spardha’12 left an indelible mark. As we were joking the other day in class, wouldn’t it be nice if we had a summer and a winter Spardha (like Olympics if you hadn’t guessed) or would that be pushing it?
